3 Tips for Your Record Label’s Website

This week, we’re talking about a few things you can do to help improve the sustainability of your record label’s website!

1. Keep it Minimal. Use simplicity to remove the “paradox of choice” for your visitors and consolidate your menu options.

2. Embrace Hierarchy. Ask yourself where you want new visitors to go first. What is most important? (New release? Bandcamp page? Your backcatalog?) Make that the biggest, most obvious choice.

3. Make it Sustainable. Don’t let any part of your website be out of date or no longer relevant. Avoid incorporating a news feed or blog that needs updating on an unmaintainable schedule…

Bonus Tip! Regularly (weekly or monthly) audit your label’s website to look for deadlinks, out of date banners, or anything else that seems out of place or irrelevant.

Let me know if you have any tricks or things that have worked well for your label’s website!
