How to Get Your Music in Record Stores

Let's talk about the 3 things you can do that will help you get your music and releases into your local indie record stores!

Here are a few things to keep in mind when approaching your local record store…

1) Have a vision! Research their inventory and aesthetic, present a case as to why you think they should carry your label’s releases.


2) Make it easy! Email them a way to listen to the music ahead of time, pick a fair price point, give them a free copy, offer titles on consignment, and help them keep track of your label’s stock!


3) Promote their store! Tell your fans on social media to visit and support the shop. Give the store a free copy to giveaway in a contest, provide them with an early release window, or even an exclusive color variant.


Record stores and record labels have a lot in common! Be creative and generous with the partnership.
