There wasn’t even anything for me to Google about starting a record label. I didn’t know about contracts, A&R, publishing, licensing… and getting your music on iTunes took 3 months!
Today, new record labels have the opposite problem.
Too much information… and no one to tell you what you need to do first, and what is a waste of time.
This is where Other Record Labels finds its reason for being… to provide resources of previously inaccessible tools; to provide access to previously unreachable experts; and to foster a community of like-minded record label owners.
When I started my own record label, I was all by myself.
