How to make the most of your music career.

  • Community.

    Understanding the importance of community and support from your fellow peers in the independent space...these are the very people who will support your early releases, think of you for potential collaborations, provide genuine feedback and share their experiences with you. These are the people that can help steer your label in a successful direction.

  • Legislation.

    Staying up to date on major legislation that impacts you and your artists as an independent record label...it's impossible to follow every individual activity that puts the value of copyright in jeopardy, but make sure to pay attention to the major ones (like the introduction of Spotify Discovery, illegal use of safe harbor on platforms like Twitch, etc.). They affect independent artists so greatly.

  • Education.

    Never stop educating yourself about our independent space; there is an infinite amount of knowledge to learn and you will never know it all because it's changing daily! Stay up to date with what's going on and never be afraid or embarrassed to ask for an explanation on something.
